No one should have to walk alone in the dark.

The ValorAid Foundation expands access to early, private, non-clinical support for the people who carry the weight of high-stress work — and often carry it alone, long after the shift ends.

Our mission

Many first responders, healthcare workers, veterans, public-safety personnel, and frontline teams are calm and capable on the job, but left alone with the weight after the shift. Too often, the system waits for them to ask for help. Many never do. Some only ask after they have already reached a breaking point.

The Foundation is built around a different question: what if support could reach people earlier?

Through the Foundation, ValorAid works to make stigma-safe tools, field-ready support, and access pathways available to people and groups who may not have a budget, a formal program, or an easy way to begin.

It is a mission to make early support easier to reach, easier to trust, and harder to ignore.

What we focus on

Two ways the Foundation widens the door.

Grants & scholarships

Support that helps people and groups reach early, private support they couldn't otherwise afford — including access for under-resourced departments and individuals, and backing for peer support, training, and field-ready wellbeing efforts.

Awareness & education

Work that makes it normal to reach for support early — reducing the stigma around strain in high-stress work, and helping people, peers, and leaders recognize the weight before it reaches a breaking point.

Two parts of ValorAid

One purpose. A clear line between them.

ValorAid is not only a product. It is also a commitment to access, dignity, and earlier support. The two sides work toward the same purpose — and stay distinct.

The Tool · ValorAid

The product departments pilot and adopt

The ValorAid web app gives frontline staff a fast reset and an anonymous check-in, and gives leadership an aggregate signal by group, shift, unit, or site. Organizations pilot it, adopt it, and pay for continued use. This is the part that sustains the work.

The Mission · ValorAid Foundation

The nonprofit that widens access

The ValorAid Foundation is a mission-driven nonprofit. It exists to reach people earlier — through grants, scholarships, awareness, and access pathways — especially for those without a budget or a formal program. It is funded by support and giving, not by selling software.

Piloting or buying the ValorAid tool is not a charitable donation, and supporting the Foundation is not a purchase of software. They share a name and a purpose — keeping early support within reach for the people who carry the weight of high-stress work.
