About Us
There’s a moment that happens, not all at once, but slowly, almost imperceptibly…. where you stop realizing how much you’ve been holding. And then one day, you notice the way your shoulders never drop, how the radio silence after a shift feels heavier than noise, how you’ve become fluent in crisis but tongue-tied in your own pain.
That’s who this is for.
ValorAid was built by people who’ve stood in those silences. People who’ve been the calm in the storm, the voice on the radio, the one who doesn’t flinch, until they do. We’re first responders, healthcare workers, veterans, survivors, and we got tired of being told to "just hang in there" while the systems we served crumbled beneath us.
This isn’t another wellness app.
It’s a support system that remembers you're human.
The ValorAid app was designed to meet you exactly where you are, whether you’re on shift, off shift, up late, or halfway to giving up. Inside, you’ll find tools rooted in psychological first aid, peer connection that doesn’t feel like lip service, and real strategies to help you come back to yourself. Not in theory. In practice.
We believe healing doesn’t happen in isolation, and it doesn’t always look like therapy sessions or perfect routines. Sometimes it’s a quiet check-in from someone who’s been there. Sometimes it’s a five-minute breath between emergencies. Sometimes it’s just knowing you don’t have to explain the weight of it all.
This is about cultural change from the inside out.
Because trauma-informed care doesn’t begin in a policy manual, it begins in how we show up for each other.
So if you’ve ever felt like the helper with no one to turn to…
Welcome. You’re home.
